KFUPM presents the first DTV Startup Challenge

The challenge provides an opportunity to participate in a startup journey by pitching their ideas, projects and startups and having a chance to be funded.

This challenge is open to everyone in KSA.

Who is this for?

This challenge is open for all residents in Saudi Arabia.

University students of all majors, working professionals from any industry, business people, entrepreneurs and to-be-launched startups.

Whether you come with a fully developed concept or a brief idea, our Mentors and team will help you to frame your idea into a startup product during the challenge.

If you are an individual, this will also be a great opportunity for you to meet other entrepreneurs during the challenge and you may even find your team members there.

    You may register as a team or as an individual. All citizens and residents in Saudi Arabia are eligible to participate.


    Come prepared with ideas addressing the announced challenges.


    Travel and accommodation arrangements are not covered.

During the Challenge

Rules and regulations during the Challenge


    Participants must come on time, latecomers will not be allowed to take part in the hackathon.


    Each participant must present a valid government ID card.


    Participants must stay in the specified venue throughout the contest duration.


    Refreshments will be provided on site.


    Once a challenge is selected by a team, it cannot be changed.


    Each team is responsible for bringing all required equipment including laptops and chargers.


    It is the responsibility of the team to monitor their equipment and belongings.


    The organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify any team for violation of rules or misbehavior.

Eligibility, Agreement & Copyright


DTV Challenge event organizers have the right at their sole discretion to determine whether an entrant is eligible for the contest. DTV Startup Challenge may disqualify, at organizers’ sole discretion, entries (including, without limitation, content submitted in connection therewith) that
(a) are in violation of third party rights or law or regulation,
(b) use inappropriate or explicit language or images, or display content that DTV Startup Challenge or Partners otherwise finds objectionable.


You agree that submission of an Entry in the Competition constitutes agreement to these Rules. These Rules form a binding legal agreement between you and the event organizers with respect to the Competition. Judges will choose the winning entries, and prizes will be awarded in accordance with these Rules.


Participant/team represents and warrants that he is the sole author and copyright owner of the Submission, and that the Submission is an original work of the Participant/team, or if the Submission is a work based on an existing application, that the Participant/team has acquired sufficient rights to use and to authorize others, including the Fintech Hackathon, to use the Submission; and that the Submission does not infringe upon any copyright or upon any other third party rights of which the Participant/team is aware.
